Maui's House of the Sun 2008 Solar Tour:
For
the past twelve years the American Solar Energy Society has teamed up with
tour organizers across the United States to educate the public on renewable
energy in all of its forms through the National Solar Tour. This year approximately
45 states and 90,000
attendees
are projected to participate in the Eleventh Annual National Solar Tour,
set to take place on October 4th, the first
Saturday of National Energy Awareness Month.
And it is with great pride that the Hawaii PV Coalition announces Maui's second annual participation. The Hawaii PV Coalition, a non-profit organization dedicated to the development, implementation and education of solar power, will sponsor's Maui's 3rd Annual House of the Sun Solar Tour.
Maui's tour will address the crucial issue of global warming, and will educate the public on renewable energy, energy efficiency and steps every person can take to reduce carbon dioxide emissions while supporting a sustainable energy economy. During the tour, residential and commercial properties using solar electric power and solar hot water will be open to the public, allowing attendees to experience first hand these technologies. In addition, property owners and representatives from the Hawaii PV Coalition will be on hand to discuss the benefits of the systems highlighted.
